The classroom is the backbone of American education. JDew will come to your classroom (or maybe even stay all day) and cover the topics of Trans-Atlantic slave trade, the Civil Rights Movement, and the lives of the characters in “One Voice.”
MLK – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is the mouthpiece of social change in America. The life of the Baptist minister from Atlanta, GA, was marked with triumph and tragedy. From being the youngest winner of the Nobel Peace Price to being assassinated in cold blood for his stance on non-violence protest, understanding his impact on American policy is vital to the leadership of the future.
But, of course, Dr. King wasn’t the only one fighting for change, then or now. Other voices that often get mentioned, are: Malcom X, and Rosa Parks, and others. Frequent topics include: The Freedom Riders, Bloody Sunday, and the 16th St Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.
